In the course of the development towards a climate-neutral society, the use of energy-efficient and CO₂-free processes is essential. Tenova LOI Thermprocess offers a wide variety of innovative revamping and modernization solutions for industrial furnace systems. This includes the heat treatment of metals for batch annealing plants and continuous heat treatment lines for steel strip, heavy plates, pipes & tubes, forgings as well as aluminium melting and recycling plants. 

For the reduction of the CO₂- footprint of the transport sector, electrical steel grades are required for high efficient electric motors. Non-grain oriented (NGO) electrical steel with optimum magnetic and mechanical properties is essential for efficient electric motors. Additionally, the electrification of the transport sector requires the provision of a comprehensive and efficient charging infrastructure. Grain oriented (GO) electrical steel strip is used for this purpose. Tenova LOI Thermprocess is one of the few companies offering innovative enhancements for this plant technology for the production of electrical steel strip of both grades.

Additionally advanced high strength and ultra-high strength steels are used to decrease the weight of car bodies and thus reducing CO₂ emissions. Steel development is driving steels to ever-higher strengths and the plant technology must follow the developments, above all in order to comply with the annealing and cooling conditions for this in series production. Therefore, there is a tendency towards rapid cooling and higher annealing temperatures. Tenova LOI Thermprocess has the knowhow and references to retrofit older systems with various components independent of the original manufacturer.
